Utah is known for its extreme sports. From being the home state of numerous Olympians, professional outdoor athletes, and unparalleled recreational terrain, Utah is a great place to be if you believe life is meant for living. You don’t have to be a professional athlete or a BASE jumping enthusiast to get extreme in Utah. Here are some of our favorite places to go to push personal limits…and, even if you’re afraid of heights or backflips, the kids are bound to enjoy these activities.

Go Rock Climbing at Momentum Climbing Gym

Get elevated at Utah’s world class indoor rock climbing facility. Momentum features hundreds of different climbing routes for you to practice on. There are also several beginner and kids programs for you to try. In addition to helping overcome heights, climbing is a great workout!

Try Backflips on Skis at Snogression

Snogression prides itself on being the “fastest, safest way to progress your tricks in skiing and snowboarding.” This indoor alternative gym allows you to practice your slopestyle and park and pipe snowboard and ski tricks indoors on tramps and ramps. Individuals can bring their skis and snowboards and practice doing backflips safely into big foam pits or on high-flying trampolines.

Practice for Formula One at Fastkart Speedway

Ever dreamed of racing cars? Fastkart Speedway is Salt Lake’s premier Go Kart track. Learn how to corner deftly, avoid other racers, and accelerate on straight aways. Go Karting is always a great activity for an active family.

Master the Basics of Shooting at the Park City Gun Club

Park City’s new state-of-the-art gun range and shooting facility offers classes that cover how to safely fire a pistol to safe hunting techniques. The range has additional features that allow you to simulate a zombie apocalypse or hunting mission. For those who have never fired a Glock, it’s a rush!

Go Helicopter Skiing with Powderbird

Powderbird heli services some of the best skiing in North America. Some the Wasatch’s best ski lines are located in the Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons but are not serviced by chairlifts. Enjoy open 40 degree runs without any of the crowds and with the safety of a professional mountain guide. A must do for any die hard snow enthusiast.

Take a Flying Lesson in Heber

OK3Air in Heber offers private pilot, instrument pilot, and advanced flight training such as aerobatics and unusual attitude, mountain flying, and tailwheel flying. If you've ever wanted to play Peter Pan, this is the place to go!
